AOC recalls first batch of PDS241 and PDS271 monitors in Europe*
Amsterdam, 28 August 2017 – Due to a technical problem with the external power adapter and signal input box of a small number of units, AOC recalls the two monitor models AOC PDS241 and PDS271. Not affected are Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Rumania, Ukraine, Slovenia and Turkey.
Reason for the recall: faulty power/HDMI adapters in a small number of unit
Problem with external adapter boxes
The AOC PDS241 and PDS271 monitors use an external box for power and image signal input. A small number of these boxes, provided by an external component supplier, turned out not to meet the requirements for minimal distances of its internal components. Therefore the risk of an electric shock cannot be completely ruled out. As a precaution, AOC asks customers in Europe to stop using their PDS241 and PDS271 monitors and unplug them from the power outlet, in order to avoid any potential risk related to the external box.
In order to make 100 % sure that all European customers who have purchased an AOC PDS241 or PDS271 only use it with a flawless power/signal input box, AOC now offers them a free replacement.
If you own one of these models, please contact us by e-mail immediately, so that AOC can start the replacement process:
